Helping Sally Get To Work

Sally needed to get to work

Sally was a single mom with a disabled son who required 24/7 care. They had been receiving public assistance since Sally’s husband deserted them in 2023. Sally had no family support, no skills, and a medically challenged son. But she had a plan.

With the money she made from a part-time job, she applied for a certification course as a medical technician. Two years later, she had passed the examination and received her advanced degree. Her son’s medical condition had also improved and enrolled as a high school freshman.

Sally was anxious to start work, get off welfare and make a better life for her and her son but her new job required commuting from Georgetown to Sacramento. Her work schedule did not allow using public transportation, and she could not afford the fuel cost. Her son had been out of public school for the last two years and did not have clothes that fit or suitable for a high school freshman.

There are many worthy charitable organizations, but few could help with new school clothes, and fuel.

Our foundation made a difference in Sally’s life. Sally is off welfare. She has a good job, and her son is doing well in school.
