Donating to a 501(c)(3) foundation goes beyond writing a check. Although cash and checks are appreciated, our foundation accepts your generosity in many forms from wire transfers to digital currency. The El Dorado Community Foundation provides for the administration and receipts of all donations including the following:

Wire Transfer — Easily transfer your donation from your bank account.
Financial Asset-Based Donations — Appreciated Securities (Stocks/Bonds). Donating appreciated stocks directly avoids capital gains taxes on the appreciation while providing a deduction for its market value..
Donor Advised Funds (DAF) — Allows for a charitable tax-deductible contribution immediately and selection of specific charities to fund in the future.
Donate Real Estate — Donating real estate can provide significant tax deductions without the headache and liability of selling a property yourself.
Vehicle Donations — Donating cars, trucks, RVs boats and recreational vehicles.
Life Insurance Policies — Naming the Foundation as a beneficiary.
Legacy Trust — Create your charitable legacy by establishing a Legacy Fund named after you or your family, to ensure support for your charitable causes you love after your lifetime.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) — For the 2026 tax year, the maximum Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is $111,000 per person ($222,000 for married couples filing jointly), allowing individuals aged 70½ or older to transfer funds from an IRA to a qualified charity tax-free. While technically an income exclusion rather than a deduction, this directly lowers taxable income, satisfies required minimum distributions (RMDs), and avoids taxes on the donated amount.
